C. Bryan Cameron - Founder, Chairman
Bryan Cameron is the Chairman and President of the Bryan Cameron Education Foundation. Through the Foundation, he hopes to invest in the lives of many deserving students as they seek to continue their development in college and during their lives make a meaningful impact in their professional and personal activities.
Education has been a critical part of Mr. Cameron’s own life, as he had the opportunity to learn from many gifted teachers and fellow students. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Davis, in 1980 and then his MBA from Stanford University in 1983. Professionally, he has worked his entire career at Dodge & Cox, a large investment firm in San Francisco, with responsibilities in equity analysis and decision making. Mr. Cameron is the Director of Equity Research at the firm.
Bryan Cameron is active in a number of philanthropic organizations. He is Past President of the Bear Backers, the Athletic Development office of the University of California, Berkeley, and currently serves on the Board of the Institute of Government Studies at the University. He also serves on the Chancellor’s Advisory Board at the University of California, Davis, the Board of the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Foundation in Palo Alto, CA, and the Board of the Church of the Pioneers Foundation, Menlo Church, in Menlo Park, CA.
Bryan considers himself most fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful family and friends, many of whom call him “Bear” due to his devotion to Cal. When not working at Dodge & Cox or at Cal Athletic events, his interests are primarily reading, politics, travel and golf.
Jill Cameron Schumb is the youngest of four siblings, her oldest brother Bryan is the grantor of the Bryan Cameron Educational Foundation. Jill’s father Richard, served our country as a Naval Aviator and is a retired businessman; her mother Marilyn, taught her whole life as middle school teacher in our public schools. At an early age, Jill and her siblings were inculcated with a love, and respect, for higher education. Jill excelled in STEM subjects and matriculated to University of California, Davis, graduating in 1987 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Jill worked in Silicon Valley for various tech companies in Technical Marketing and Product Management. She is currently a Senior Director of Global Sales Operations at Brocade Communications. Jill has been active in various non-profit and political causes. She is married to Christopher Schumb, an attorney. They have a daughter Caroline and two Golden Retrievers, Wells and Gracie. Jill is honored to serve as Board Member and CFO, and is dedicated to its purpose of encouraging the best and the brightest students to realize their academic collegiate dreams.
Sarah Hansen graduated from the University of Missouri with a state teaching credential in English Language Arts, grades six through twelve. Before marrying her husband and relocating to Chicago, IL this past July, Sarah taught English and coached at Valley Christian High school in San Jose, CA. While currently working to complete her Illinois teaching credential, Sarah tutors local high school students and works as a substitute teacher. She is also the head Club Track coach for Lake Forest College.
Sarah is passionate about mentoring young students outside the classroom and has been a consistent volunteer in youth ministries and tutor to under-privilege youth in California and Missouri. Her past work experience with the College and Career Counseling department of Valley Christian, as well as her daily classroom experience, bring a "hand's on" knowledge and approach to the work of the Foundation's Board of Directors.
Marnie Marcin - Audit Committee (not pictured)
Marnie Marcin is a member of the Board and Audit Committee of the Bryan Cameron Education Foundation. She has twenty years of experience across the public, private and social sectors, from investment banking, principal investment and law to management and strategy consulting.
Marnie has a penchant for philanthropy. She currently serves in leadership positions at several nonprofit organizations. Her past positions include Program Officer for Strategic Philanthropy at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and Director of Strategy and Investments at Omidyar Network, where she helped pioneer a novel approach to investing for social and financial returns.
Marnie received an AB cum laude from Princeton University and a JD from Stanford Law School.
Amie Fernandez Lucas - Executive Director
As the Executive Director of the Bryan Cameron Education Foundation, Amie Lucas oversees the day-to-day operations of the Foundation and all aspects of the Cameron Impact Scholarship Program. She also participates on both the Board and the Selection Committee.
Residing in Los Angeles, she is active in a variety of local volunteer organizations. With three young children, she is passionate about education at all levels, and eager to identify outstanding individuals who will be making a positive impact in the world for our future generations.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Amie was a vice president at Eastdil Secured in Los Angeles. She began her career in New York, working at Morgan Stanley in the General Industrial Group of the Global Capital Markets division. She received a B.A. in Economics from Middlebury College where she remains active in the Alumni Association. She lives with her husband and three children in Los Angeles.

Tim Magner is a Chicago-based education entrepreneur. He studied history at Boston College, followed by a career in technology sales before focusing on kids. For the last decade, Tim has been involved in a number of educational and food-related ventures, including as a children's book author and running a summer camp on a working farm.
Kim Stephens is a master's prepared registered nurse who practiced clinical nursing in the specialty areas of kidney, heart-lung transplant and critical care. She has served as a clinical nursing instructor at the University of San Francisco, Azusa Pacific and Samuel Merritt Nursing Schools. She received her Bachelor's in Nursing from Mount St. Mary's University and her Master's in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco.
As the mother of three adult sons, she has enjoyed extensive volunteer work aimed at helping young people. She has served as a youth soccer and basketball coach, team parent, room parent, and faith formation teacher. She has also served as a substitute middle school teacher.
Guiding her own children along the journey toward each of their college choices was a most meaningful experience. She is excited to contribute to the Foundation's goal of identifying promising scholars who will make a difference in their lifetime. She lives in San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and their Bernese mountain dog.
