BRYAN CAMERON EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES CLASS OF 2020 CAMERON IMPACT SCHOLAR RECIPIENTS - A 4-YEAR, FULL TUITION MERIT-BASED AWARD

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation has announced today, the 15 recipients of the 2020 Cameron Impact Scholarship. The members of the Class of 2020 Cameron Impact Scholars have earned a four-year, merit-based scholarship to cover the full tuition and educational expenses at their chosen collegiate institutions. Scholars are able to attend any U.S. university to which they are accepted, and major in any academic area of their choosing. This prestigious group of young leaders, shares a unified goal of making a positive impact in the greater community and world.

The 2020 Cameron Impact Scholars, the Foundation’s fourth class of Scholars are:

Maya Albold – Saint Augustine, Florida
Jackson Baker – Larchmont, New York
Grace Beal – New Castle, Pennsylvania
Jessica Chiriboga – Glendora, California
Josephine Cureton – San Francisco, California
Joshua Hechtman – Spokane, Washington
Matine Khalighi – Denver, Colorado
Peyton Klein – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Akshaj Mishra – Evansville, Indiana
Michael Murray – Lake Oswego, Oregon
Lillian Petersen – Los Alamos, New Mexico
Peyton Robertson – Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Molly Smith – Clermont, Florida
Raymond Suo – Louisville, Kentucky
Robert Wachen – Potomac, Maryland

The Foundation received over 2,700 applications for this year’s Cameron Impact Scholarship from all 50 states and abroad. Following an online application process, 100 Finalists from 34 states and/or territories were selected for in-person interviews. Amie Lucas, Executive Director, noted, “Every year we are overwhelmed with the incredible promise and passion of this upcoming renaissance generation. The diversity of focus is exceptional, but the common intention of making this world a better place is humbling. These young leaders exhibit a high-level of integrity and maturity without sacrificing balance in life and the beauty of their youth. Our growing family of scholars inspires those around them to be more present, to care, and to make us all want to do better. It is such a gift to know them and learn from them.”

A Cameron Impact Scholar must demonstrate a positive engagement in community service, exhibit strong leadership qualities, be active in extracurricular activities, and show strength in academics. Most notably, those identified as Cameron Impact Scholars must show a true passion to use their individual gifts and talents to make a tangible and positive impact on the world around them.

The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation is a private, family foundation which was established by the Bay Area philanthropist, Bryan Cameron, in 2015 on the principle of making an impact. Through its four-year undergraduate scholarship program, the Foundation aims to provide ample support for extraordinary young adults who see their college education as a stepping stone toward a lifetime of contribution to the greater good. The Foundation received nearly 2,500 reviewable applications for this year’s Cameron Impact Scholarship from all 50 states and abroad. Following an online application process, 100 Finalists from 34 states and/or territories were selected for in-person interviews. Amie Lucas, Executive Director, noted, “We met with such an exceptional cross section of students this year. One theme that really stood out again and again was the importance of perspective, and how problem solving in any relationship or obstacle is always best facilitated when approached with an open-mind and willingness to look at things from all sides.  We all have so much to learn from this new generation of leaders and their own thoughtful insights.”

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation is honored to announce the Class of 2018 recipients of the prestigious Cameron Impact Scholarship.  The Foundation has named 15 Cameron Impact Scholars – each a recipient of a four-year, merit-based scholarship to cover the full tuition and educational expenses at the Scholars’ chosen collegiate institution.  Scholars are able to attend any U.S. university to which they are accepted, and major in any academic area of their choosing.

BRYAN CAMERON EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL CLASS OF 2017 CAMERON IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS - A 4-YEAR, FULL TUITION, MERIT-BASED AWARD

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation today announced its inaugural class of 2017 Cameron Impact Scholars.  The Foundation has awarded a total of 15 Cameron Impact Scholarships – each a four-year, merit-based scholarship to cover the ‘full tuition and qualified educational expenses’ at the Scholars’ chosen collegiate institution.  The awards have been granted to extraordinary individuals aiming to make a positive impact in their professional and personal relationships throughout the course of their lives.

The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation received more than 2,500 applications for this year’s Cameron Impact Scholarship from all 50 states, as well as from several United States’ citizens living abroad.  Following an online application process, approximately 70 finalists from 26 states and/or territories were selected for in-person interviews.  Amie Lucas, Executive Director, noted that “We were both honored and humbled at the caliber and volume of interest in our Program’s initial year.  The depth of passion, ingenuity and overall potential for this next generation is incredibly heartening.”

The 2017 Cameron Impact Scholars have demonstrated a positive engagement in community service, exhibited strong leadership qualities, have been active in extracurricular activities and shown strength in academics (unweighted GPA of 3.7 or higher).  Most notably, those identified as Cameron Impact Scholars have shown a true passion to use their individual gifts and talents to make a tangible and positive impact on the world around them.
